The National Refractory Quality Inspection and Testing Center was established in 1981. In 1990, it was authorized by the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine as a national level testing (authorization certificate number: National Certification and Accreditation Administration [101]). In 1993, it was recognized by the State Administration for Market Regulation as a laboratory accredited by the State Administration for Market Regulation for refractory materials (certificate number NQ5302). In 1995, it was approved by the National Science and Technology Commission and the State Administration for Quality and Technical Supervision as a national level testing and appraisal institution for refractory materials. In September 2000, it passed the "three in one" accreditation (laboratory accreditation, metrological certification, and institutional accreditation) organized by the China National Laboratory Accreditation Committee. Obtained authorization for international standards such as ISO, ASTM, EN, DIN in December 2009.

Our center has 51 high-quality testing personnel, more than 200 advanced testing instruments and equipment at home and abroad, and a laboratory area of nearly 5000m2. It is the most widely authorized national professional refractory material testing institution in China. The testing products involve fields such as steel, non-ferrous metals, petrochemicals, building materials, environmental protection, national defense, aerospace, etc. The scope of national authorized testing includes 7 categories, including refractory materials, carbon materials, thermal insulation materials, metallurgical auxiliary materials, ores, activated carbon, etc., with 147 varieties and nearly 300 testing methods, including national standards, industry standards, as well as international advanced technical standards such as ISO, ASTM, EN, DIN, etc. Approved by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and authorized by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNCA) for qualification certification.

In addition to handling routine inspection work, our center also undertakes high-temperature equipment accident diagnosis, product quality certification inspection and acceptance, and supervision and acceptance of high-temperature equipment refractory material projects. At the same time, it can also undertake product quality judicial appraisal tasks entrusted by the judicial department, provide legally effective testing reports for quality disputes, and be included in the list of judicial appraisal institutions entrusted by the people's court to the outside world.

The Secretariat of the Testing Methods Subcommittee of the National Refractory Standardization Technical Committee is located in this center, responsible for the formulation and revision of refractory testing method standards, and providing quality inspection personnel training and technical consulting guidance for production enterprises, playing a good promoting role in improving the product quality of the refractory industry nationwide.

Our center continuously strengthens its own construction, strictly implements laboratory accreditation standards, ensures the effective implementation of the quality system, continuously improves the level of testing technology and equipment, and strives to become the most trusted third-party testing institution for refractory material users in the world.
