New progress has been made in the national key research and development plan project undertaken by China Steel Luonai Institute

Recently, good news came from the functional project team of the R&D center of China Steel Luonai Institute. The national key R&D plan project undertaken by China Steel Luonai Institute, the key functional refractory material flow nozzle for thin strip continuous casting, has achieved a key technological breakthrough and has been officially launched. The preliminary trial effect has reached the level of similar foreign products.

On May 22nd, Xiong Jian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Sinosteel Luonai, led a team to conduct a special research on the project team. Xiong Jian highly praised the spirit of the scientific research team's courage to overcome difficulties and innovate, fully acknowledging the outstanding contributions of project team members in technological breakthroughs. He emphasized that in the future, we will make every effort to provide supporting support such as talent and funding, accelerate the mass application of products, and promote the accelerated transformation of innovative achievements into industrial competitiveness.

 

 

 

The flow nozzle is a key functional refractory material for thin strip continuous casting, which has a significant impact on the smooth progress of the thin strip continuous casting process, product quality, and production efficiency. Due to harsh usage conditions, there are extremely high requirements for its thermal shock resistance, steel liquid impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and quality stability, making development difficult. Under the leadership of Li Hongxia, Chief Scientist of Baowu, members of the functional project team of the R&D center of Zhonggang Luoyang Institute, relying on national key R&D plan projects and Shagang horizontal projects, carried out technical research and development around material properties and preparation processes. After three years, they achieved a key technological breakthrough in the water distribution outlet. During the research and development process, the project team independently developed and launched a trial testing and evaluation method, simulating the actual usage environment of the product, adjusting the formula multiple times, and repeatedly conducting experimental verification. After rigorous testing, all related products have met the performance standards and have been officially launched for trial, receiving high praise from customers.

The technological breakthrough in the key function refractory material flow nozzle for thin strip continuous casting has broken the long-standing technological monopoly of foreign countries in this field, laying a solid foundation for the localization and substitution of core materials in this field, and demonstrating the R&D hard power of China Steel Luonai in the high-temperature industrial field.
