On April 23rd, the high-end refractory material market docking and technical exchange seminar for special steel enterprises with the theme of "innovation driven, market docking, and coordinated development" was successfully held at China Steel Lona. The conference was hosted by the Procurement Supply Chain Branch of China Special Steel Enterprise Association and organized by China Steel Lona. Liu Jianjun, Secretary General of China Special Steel Enterprise Association, Xiong Jian, Chairman and Party Secretary of China Steel Lona, Li Yongquan, Vice President of China Refractory Industry Association, and Guo Peifeng, President of the Procurement Supply Chain Branch of China Special Steel Enterprise Association, delivered speeches respectively. The conference was chaired by Wang Ximin, Secretary General of the Procurement Supply Chain Branch of China Special Steel Enterprise Association. Nearly 80 representatives from special steel enterprises such as Xingcheng Special Steel, Nanjing Iron and Steel, Northeast Special Steel, Tianjin Steel Pipe, Jiyuan Iron and Steel, Fushun Special Steel, as well as refractory material enterprises such as Sinosteel Luonai and Jiangsu Jianai, attended the meeting.

Liu Jianjun expressed in his speech that he hopes to build a communication platform, gather wisdom from all parties, promote in-depth cooperation between special steel enterprises and refractory material enterprises in technology research and development, market operation, etc., so that refractory material enterprises can deeply understand the special needs of special steel production, carry out targeted technological innovation, and develop high-performance, long-life, green and environmentally friendly high-end refractory materials. Special steel enterprises and refractory suppliers should establish closer cooperative relationships to achieve collaborative innovation and common development in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.

Xiong Jian warmly welcomes the leaders and representatives of special steel and refractory enterprises to attend the conference at Zhonggang Luoyang. Refractory material enterprises serving special steel enterprises well reflect their technical strength, service ability, and management level. The China Special Steel Enterprise Association will communicate and connect with China Steel Luoyang Nai to explore exchanges and cooperation between the two industries, which will help provide high-quality, green, low-carbon, and long-life refractory materials for special steel enterprises and form a harmonious industrial value chain.

Guo Peifeng stated that refractory materials, as an important support for high-temperature industries, play an irreplaceable role in the production of special steel. With the rapid development of the special steel industry, there are higher requirements for the quality and stability of high-end refractory materials. New technologies and applications have improved the quality of refractory materials, enabling refractory products to remain stable in the harsh environment of the special steel industry, greatly enhancing the efficiency and quality of special steel production enterprises. In terms of green development, characteristic enterprises are committed to using new environmentally friendly resources and more energy-efficient production processes to reduce energy consumption and pollutant emissions during the production process. This not only conforms to the trend of sustainable development, but also wins broader development space for special steel enterprises. In this process, refractory enterprises are essential partners for the development of special steel enterprises.

Zhao Fazhong, Deputy Secretary General of the China Special Steel Enterprise Association, introduced the current development status and trends of the special steel industry during the 14th Five Year Plan period. He believes that the overall economic benefits of the special steel industry are better than the average level of the steel industry. In industrialized countries, the proportion of special steel production to crude steel production is generally 15% to 20%, while in China it is estimated to be around 10% to 12%. The production of special steel during the 15th Five Year Plan period has been steadily increasing, and there is still a huge market demand for high-end refractory materials.

Wang Wenwu, Deputy General Manager of Zhonggang Lonite, introduced the research progress of refractory materials for Zhonggang Lonite steel. He stated that Sinosteel Luonai has conducted extensive research on the functionalization, lightweighting, high efficiency and energy saving of refractory materials, and has comprehensive capabilities in completing engineering design, material research and development, production, on-site construction, etc. At present, Sinosteel Luonai has undertaken major national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects and industry university research projects, continuously providing refractory material solutions for green manufacturing and sustainable development in high-temperature industries.

Technical personnel from special steel enterprises and refractory enterprises such as Nangang Co., Ltd., Sinosteel Luonai, and Jiyuan Iron and Steel shared and exchanged ideas on the high-quality development of special steel enterprises and breakthroughs in key refractory technologies.

After the meeting, all representatives visited and inspected the new base of Sinosteel Luonailuo, and learned on-site about the production processes of amorphous refractory materials and silicon carbide new materials.

This conference is a powerful measure for special steel enterprises and refractory material enterprises to adhere to innovation driven development, accelerate market integration, and promote the coordinated development of upstream and downstream industries.
