On October 17-18, the 5th meeting of the 6th National Standardization Committee and the review meetings for five national standards were successfully held in Chengdu. Members and experts from the National Standardization Committee, as well as representatives from the Basic, Product, and Test Methods sub committees, and more than 130 people from 86 standard revision units and some enterprises attended the meeting. Gan Feifang, Deputy Director of the Product Branch of the National Standards Committee (SAC/TC193/SC2) and Chief Researcher of the Central Research Institute of Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., Wang Wenwu, Deputy General Manager of China Steel Luonai, and Wang Zhanmin, Director of the Methods Branch of the National Standards Committee (SAC/TC193/SC3) and Deputy General Manager of China Steel Luonai, attended the meeting.

At the 5th meeting of the 6th National Standardization Committee, Peng Xigao, Secretary General of the National Standardization Committee and Senior Engineer of Sinosteel Luonai Institute, presented the 2024 work report of the National Standardization Committee, reporting on the committee's progress in studying the National Standardization Development Outline and the 2nd China Standardization Conference, introducing the basic situation of production and operation in the refractory material industry nationwide, and reporting on the main work plan for the next year. As a technical organization engaged in the standardization of refractory materials, the National Standards Committee has applied for 2 ISO standard plan projects, 7 national standard plan projects, 4 foreign language versions of national standards, 8 industry standard plan projects, and 6 group standard plan projects in 2024, of which 16 have been approved and 9 national standard plan projects have been approved; There are 4 national standard foreign version plans, 3 industry standard plans, and 1 international standard ISO/DIS 16206 "Quantitative phase analysis of residual quartz in silica bricks - X-ray diffraction method" has been successfully promoted. At the national standard review meeting held, five test method standards, including the "Chemical Analysis Method for Carbon, Silicon Carbide, and Nitride Refractory Materials" revised by Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research Co., Ltd.., were reviewed and approved.
