In order to implement Xi Jinping's ecological civilization ideology and actively respond to the national "dual carbon" strategy, Sinosteel Luonai has taken another solid step on the road of green and low-carbon transformation by fully utilizing idle workshop roof resources through preliminary project demonstration and feasibility analysis based on the characteristics of enterprise energy consumption structure. The distributed photovoltaic power generation project will be constructed in two phases at the Luoxin base. The 10 MW distributed photovoltaic power generation project was completed in the first half of 2024 and has recently been fully connected to the grid for power generation.

Starting from 2023, Sinosteel Luonai will fully utilize the idle roof resources in the factory area and build a distributed photovoltaic power generation with a scale of about 10 megawatts through the "self use and surplus electricity grid connection" model. The expected annual power generation is about 10 million kWh, equivalent to 1229 tons of standard coal, which can reduce 6850 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The photovoltaic power generation process has no noise or pollutant emissions, and is a static power generation with zero emissions and zero pollution. This project not only meets the electricity needs of Zhonggang Luoyang and reduces electricity costs, but also achieves efficient utilization of resources and environmentally friendly protection in the region.
