Recently, the sub project of the Baowu "Golden Apple" project, "Development of New Generation Chromium free Bricks for High Grade Plate Refining RH Furnace Vacuum Tank," undertaken by the Sinosteel Luonailuo Base, has successfully passed the acceptance of the expert group.

The attending experts listened to the project report, reviewed relevant materials, and after questioning and discussion, believed that the project had met the contract assessment indicators and unanimously agreed to pass the acceptance.

It is reported that the project has successfully developed a new generation of long-life chromium free bricks with the characteristics of clean steel, carbon free, and in-situ metal phase enhancement technology. Unlike traditional ceramic bonding, this chromium free brick improves the high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance of the product, and is more suitable for steel grades with ultra-low carbon and ultra-low sulfur content requirements, such as automotive panels and high-grade silicon steel. Industrial tests were conducted on the RH vacuum chamber of high-grade silicon steel in Baoshan base, achieving an average long service life of 361.5 furnaces, making the RH furnace longer and the molten steel cleaner, verifying the superior performance, green and low-carbon characteristics of the new generation of chromium free materials.
